Easy diy badge holder
Unleash Your Creativity at Quiltcon
QuiltCon, the ultimate gathering for quilting enthusiasts, is the perfect place to showcase your creativity in more ways than one. Why not take the opportunity to create your very own badge holder to proudly display your QuiltCon credentials? Whether you prefer a minimalist, modern design or something more whimsical and colorful, the possibilities are endless.
You'll not only show off your creative side, but also inspire others to do the same.
The approximate size of QuiltCon badge is about 4.25” x 5.75”. I decided to make my badge holder a bit bigger. so I can easily slide the badge in the holder. If you prefer a video, check it out HERE.
Materials
(2) 5″ x 6.5″ main fabric (I used 2 different fabrics from Enchanted Bloom Collection by Andover Fabrics)
(1) 5” x 6.5” interfacing
(1) 5.5” x 2” binding fabric
(1) 2” x 1.5” fabric for the tab (Fold in half, crease. Then fold again with raw edges inside, press and top stitch)
(1) 5″ x 5.25” clear glitter vinyl (use code “TCL113DSASA0224” for 15% off your purchase)
(1) D Ring
(1) Lanyard
Add the binding fabric to (1) shorter edge of the vinyl, trim off the excess.
Fuse the interfacing according to manufacturer to the wrong side of (1) main fabric.
Add D Ring to the tab. This will be added between (2) main fabric.
Pin the tap to the center between main fabric pieces, sew all layers together with 1/4” seam allowance (only the top side where you add the tab).
Add the vinyl piece to the front side of the main fabric. I secured this in place by sewing 1/8” along 3 sides, leave the top (with the binding) open. You can skip this step and just pin or clip all the pieces in place.
Sew all the layers together with 1/4” seam allowance, make sure you leave 2.5” gap for turning.
(Note: I ran out of interfacing, so I had to improvise and used what I had)
Trim off excess fabric along the corners, turn it right side out. Top stitch with 1/8” seam allowance along the edges.
