A Pear-fect christmas in July
Winter lace quilt
There's nothing quite like Christmas in July—a delightful mid-year celebration that brings the magic of the holiday season to the warm, sunny days of summer. Whether it's a poolside party with Santa hats or a cozy evening with holiday movies, Christmas in July is a whimsical reminder that the spirit of Christmas can be felt any time of the year.
When I think of Christmas, snowflakes come to mind. Why not capture that magic by making a snowflake quilt, right? I’m using this wonderful festive fabric collection called "Pear-fect Christmas designed by Carla Naylor for Riley Blake Designs. I swapped out the usual white background for a deep charcoal one.
This Winter Lace Quilt is perfect for confident beginners looking to master their accurate 1/4" seam allowance with strip piecing. It comes in two sizes: mini (24" x 24") and quilt (80" x 80"). You can start with the mini size, perfect for practicing before tackling the larger bed size. The mini quilt can easily be turned into a charming wall hanging or a cozy pillowcase.
I chose the "Heart Baubles" pantograph by Sew Shabby Quilting for this quilt. Christmas always reminds me of love, laughter, and family gatherings, enjoying festive decorations and holiday treats together.
Do you have a favorite Christmas family tradition? We love baking cookies and enjoying homemade hot cocoa together. We found a new chocolate chip cookie recipe that we’re going to try this year.:)
