Ripples & Blooms Quilt a modern version

Ripple and Blooms Quilt

If you love to add the extra shimmer to you quilt, and still on the fence about prints, you might want to try Sparkler features scattered gold sparkle plus signs of various sizes. I pretty much use this collection instead of solid fabrics.

Ripples & Blooms Quilt is a skill building quilt pattern, which you’ll learn several sewing techniques including Stitch and Flip (SNF) method where you sew a fabric shape onto a larger piece of fabric, then flip it over and press it to reveal the sewn piece.

I often add these extra steps to make Half Square Triangles (HSTs) instead of discarding the fabric.

  • Draw your first diagonal line from top left corner to bottom right corner.

  • Then draw another line 1/2″ away from the first line. Sew along both lines

  • Cut 1/4″ from the first line. Press seams open.

You can save the extra HSTs for future projects or make a modern pillow. As for the quilting, I used my all time favorite pantograph for this quilt. It’s called Daisy Daze and it gives so much textures.

You can find Ripples & Blooms Pattern on my website along with other patterns that I think you’ll love.
